This role serves as the central point of contact for all product and inventory data across both wholesale and retail channels. The ideal candidate will play a strategic role in driving business performance through effective merchandise planning, inventory control, allocation strategies, and in-season commercial execution.

 【JOB RESPONSIBILITIES】

1. Planning & Strategy

  • Develop sales, inventory, and margin plans that align with the goals of each sales channel.

  • Oversee product allocation by category and store to ensure effective stock distribution.

  • Manage Open-To-Buy (OTB), product selection, and ordering processes for outlet channels.

  • Analyze weekly sales and inventory reports and use insights to guide business decisions and support cross-functional teams.

2. Direct-to-Consumer (DTC) – Pre-Season Planning

  • Create and recommend category-level strategies for sales, product mix, and inventory, aligned with financial objectives and KPIs.

3. Direct-to-Consumer (DTC) – In-Season Execution

  • Monitor sales, stock, and margin performance weekly and adjust plans accordingly to meet KPIs.

  • Lead allocation and distribution strategies.

  • Participate in promotional pricing to meet margin goals.

  • Determine product assortments and depth for new stores.

  • Analyze product and store performance to optimize sales and stock movement.

  • Manage markdowns and discount strategies.

4. Wholesale Planning

  • Inventory Management: Monitor stock levels, forecast demand, and ensure timely replenishment to avoid excess or shortages.

  • Pricing & Sales Analysis: Create competitive pricing strategies and assess performance to adjust pricing as needed.

5. Outlet Reproduction Oversight

  • Lead the Open-To-Buy process to meet margin and sales objectives.

  • Coordinate MFO purchasing and product selection for outlet collections.

  • Track inbound shipments and ensure timely allocation to stores.

  • Manage product registration and master data for outlet items in ORLI.

  • Monitor product performance and make restock or re-buy recommendations.

6. Retail & Wholesale Allocation

  • Manage product allocation and launches using ORLI, including end-of-season returns.

  • Review store inventory and sales to guide replenishment and transfers.

  • Lead weekly stock transfers to maintain optimal store performance.

  • Plan inventory build-up for promotions and holidays.

  • Participate in planning product movements and ensure execution.

  • Work with the Merchandising Planner on store openings to ensure proper inventory.

  • Conduct seasonal store profile reviews to maintain consistency in product displays and space usage.

  • Address operational issues with retail teams and coordinate logistics to ensure timely deliveries.

 【REQUIREMENTS】 

  • 4+ years of experience in merchandise planning or allocation in a retail setting

  • Strong analytical and data management skills

  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

  • Passion for the fashion industry

  • Business-level fluency in both Japanese and English (spoken and written)

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher

  • A team player who is self-motivated, multitasks well, and shows entrepreneurial spirit
