Data Platform Architect (GCP Focus)
Level: Manager to Consulting Partner

This consulting division supports organizations that are in the early or evolving stages of digital transformation. The team assists clients with defining business challenges, designing technology-driven solutions, and executing large-scale transformation programs. Services include program governance, change management, and end-to-end implementation support.

Role Overview

As a Data Platform Architect, you will lead the design and delivery of enterprise-scale data platforms that enable cross-organizational data utilization and advanced analytics. In addition to technical architecture responsibilities, this role includes project governance and delivery oversight to ensure quality, timeline adherence, and risk mitigation.

You will translate business objectives into structured system requirements and guide project execution from architecture design through implementation, maintaining oversight of quality, schedule, and risk management.

Key Responsibilities

Architecture & Technical Leadership

  • Lead business and technical requirement definition sessions with clients and internal stakeholders

  • Define target-state architecture (To-Be model) and convert business needs into technical specifications

  • Design enterprise data platforms including ETL/ELT pipelines, data warehouses, data lakes, streaming architectures, APIs, and system integrations

  • Define non-functional requirements such as security, scalability, performance, data models, and operational frameworks

  • Review architectural documents, technical designs, and code to ensure quality and adherence to standards

  • Provide technical leadership and governance across the delivery lifecycle

Project & Delivery Management

  • Oversee project execution, ensuring quality control, schedule compliance, and risk mitigation

  • Develop and manage Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) and monitor project progress

  • Identify technical challenges and proactively drive resolution strategies

  • Coordinate multiple vendors and cross-functional development teams

  • Prepare executive-level reports and presentations for stakeholders

Stakeholder & Team Leadership

  • Serve as a strategic advisor to business and IT stakeholders

  • Lead and mentor consultants and technical team members

  • Contribute to proposal development, solution design, and pre-sales consulting activities

  • Strong leadership capability with the ability to articulate a clear technical vision

  • Solid business acumen and ability to design mutually beneficial engagement models

  • Skilled at structuring ambiguous business challenges into actionable solutions

  • Deep expertise in enterprise data platforms and architecture design

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills suitable for executive engagement

  • Comfortable working in diverse, multicultural, and multilingual environments

Required Qualifications

  • Proven experience designing and implementing enterprise-wide data platforms across multiple departments

  • Hands-on experience building data platforms on public cloud environments (such as AWS, Azure, GCP, OCI, or similar)

  • Experience with ETL/ELT processes, batch and streaming pipelines, and API-based integrations

  • Demonstrated project leadership experience including:

    • Quality control of technical deliverables and architecture designs

    • WBS development and progress tracking

    • Issue and risk management

    • Stakeholder reporting and coordination across business and IT functions

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with modern data warehouse or data lake platforms such as Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery, Redshift, or similar technologies

  • Experience implementing data governance frameworks, metadata management, and Master Data Management (MDM)

  • Experience serving as Project Manager or PMO for data platform initiatives, including budget and resource management

  • Experience managing multiple vendors and large-scale delivery teams

  • Experience designing architectures integrated with mission-critical enterprise systems

Assignment Structure

For candidates at Manager level or equivalent, a shared project assignment model may apply. Consultants may rotate across multiple engagements to develop broad consulting expertise, and assignments may not always align strictly with a single preferred technology or domain focus.

Employment Details

  • Employment Type: Full-time or Contract

  • Supervisory Responsibilities: Depending on grade

  • Probation Period: 3 months

  • Working Hours: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM

  • Overtime Pay: Not provided

  • Bonus: Available for full-time employees

  • Salary Review: Based on company policy and performance

Discretionary Work System

Applicable depending on seniority level
Allowance range: ¥60,000–¥80,000 per month

Compensation

Salary will be determined based on experience, expertise, and internal compensation guidelines.
