Role Summary
The Data Quality Management Specialist is responsible for establishing and operating enterprise-wide data quality frameworks. This role ensures data accuracy, consistency, integrity, and reliability across business systems. Working closely with IT teams, business stakeholders, and external partners, you will support data-driven decision-making, governance initiatives, and regulatory compliance efforts.
Key Responsibilities
Data Quality & Governance
Assess and optimize end-to-end data quality operating models
Develop, implement, and maintain enterprise data quality standards, policies, and control rules
Define, monitor, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to data quality
Prepare and present data quality findings and improvement recommendations to both technical and business stakeholders
Data Architecture & Modeling
Analyze source system metadata, including data patterns, distributions, keys, and dependencies
Design logical and physical data models aligned with business requirements and system constraints
Support the preparation of functional requirement documentation (FRD) and other technical design materials
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Project Delivery
Partner with IT teams, business departments, application developers, and external vendors to implement data initiatives
Support data strategy execution, including data ingestion, transformation, and flow design
Provide guidance to system analysts, engineers, and developers on performance considerations, system limitations, and interface specifications
Contribute to project planning, execution, and the successful delivery of data-related programs
Required Qualifications
Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience
5–10 years of experience in system development, data management, or business systems analysis
Demonstrated experience leading and successfully delivering projects
Experience developing and facilitating training programs
Practical experience defining and managing data quality KPIs
Technical Expertise
Advanced SQL skills and strong knowledge of database systems
Experience with data ingestion, integration, and end-to-end data flow architecture
Familiarity with data profiling, validation, and cleansing methodologies
Understanding of enterprise data quality frameworks and operating models
Experience supporting regulatory data compliance initiatives (e.g., GDPR, CCPA)
Ability to evaluate and recommend appropriate data quality tools and technologies
Language Requirements
Japanese: Native-level proficiency
English: Intermediate proficiency preferred
