Overview
The People Relations Specialist will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of people relations within the assigned country/region. This includes the implementation of global HR policies and processes, ensuring compliance with local laws and practices, and bridging the alignment between global frameworks and local requirements. The role focuses on enabling agile solutions, mitigating risks, and supporting business needs by providing expertise in employee relations, compliance, and workplace safety.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide legal and compliance support in people relations, including negotiations with unions and employee representatives, such as collective bargaining.

  • Establish and maintain systematic practices in workplace health and safety, including risk assessments, awareness initiatives, and mitigation measures, in collaboration with the security function.

  • Manage proactive reporting and follow-up of incidents, accidents, and risk observations across the organization.

  • Offer expert advice and support on people relations topics to managers, HR, and other stakeholders to ensure they have the appropriate knowledge and tools.

  • Partner with global centers of expertise to localize and implement policies, guidelines, and frameworks.

Collaboration
The role works closely with regional and market-level stakeholders, including senior management, and reports directly to the Regional People Identity Partner.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Academic background in Human Resources, Labor Law, Human Rights, Occupational Health & Safety, or equivalent professional experience.

  • Strong stakeholder management, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with proven ability to collaborate effectively across functions.

  • Experience in driving organizational change, developing strategies, and ensuring compliance in employee relations.

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence and negotiate effectively.

  • Proactive, solution-oriented, and innovative mindset.

  • Fluency in both Japanese and English (spoken and written).
