Position: HR Business Partner
Location: Tokyo, Japan (Remote work available once a week)
Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent
Estimated Annual Compensation: ¥6,000,000 – ¥10,000,000
Bonus: Approx. 6 months’ salary annually (paid twice a year)
Working Hours: 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM (60-minute break)
Flex Time: Yes (Core hours: 11:00 AM – 3:00 PM)
Average Overtime: Around 15–20 hours per month

Position Summary
The HR Business Partner (HRBP) plays a vital role in aligning people strategies with business objectives and driving organizational effectiveness. You will work closely with leaders across functions to design and implement HR solutions that foster talent growth, engagement, and performance. In this role, you’ll also act as a key liaison between employees and leadership, promoting a collaborative and healthy work culture.
Key Responsibilities
Talent Management
Enhance employee experience and optimize HR processes including hiring, onboarding, compensation, and separation.Talent Development
Drive performance review cycles, develop career pathing initiatives, and support succession planning.Organizational Design & Workforce Planning
Support structural planning efforts, track workforce metrics, and facilitate internal mobility and organizational change.Employee Relations
Address workplace concerns and resolve complex employee issues. Act as a mediator between stakeholders and ensure compliance with HR best practices.HR Strategy & Policy Execution
Translate business needs into HR initiatives and support the implementation of policies that reinforce company culture and goals.HR Advisory
Provide guidance to business leaders on daily HR matters, including team dynamics, performance issues, and employee development.Data-Driven Insights
Analyze HR-related data and trends to inform strategic decisions and improve business outcomes.Collaboration with Centers of Excellence (COEs)
Coordinate with specialist teams to design hiring plans, ensure effective training programs, and update HR frameworks and policies.
Requirements
Minimum 5 years of hands-on HR experience, preferably in an HRBP or HR generalist role
Broad HR expertise, including knowledge of recruitment, training, compensation, and labor relations
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
Strategic thinker with the ability to execute tactically
Analytical mindset and data fluency in HR metrics
Organizational Structure
You’ll join a mid-sized HR team consisting of:
Strategic HR Team (you + 1 HRBP Sr. Manager + 1 Development Manager)
Recruitment Team (1 HRBP Sr. Manager + 2 members + 1 RPO)
Well-being Team (1 HRBP Sr. Manager + Section Manager + 4 members)
Labor Management Team (Section Manager + 5 members)
Interview Process
Document Screening
First Interview – Recruiter (online)
Second Interview – HRBP Sr. Manager (online or in person)
Final Interview – Executive-level interview with CHRO, General Affairs Officer, and HRBP Manager (online or in person)
Note: A short aptitude test will be conducted during the interview process (approx. 30 mins, in person)
