People + Talent Lead, Japan & Korea
Purpose of the Role
This role oversees the People + Talent (P+T) function for Japan and Korea, supporting the organization’s transformation and long-term growth. The position plays a key leadership role in shaping the regional people agenda, driving HR strategy, and ensuring alignment between business objectives and talent priorities.
Key Responsibilities
1. Business Partnering
Serve as a strategic business partner and change agent to local leadership teams.
Support the development and execution of business plans by providing expert guidance on People + Talent matters.
Enable business innovation and enhance the overall colleague experience.
2. Colleague Relations & Performance Management
Build strong relationships across all levels of the organization.
Provide coaching and guidance on employee relations, performance management, career development, and retention.
3. Collaboration with P+T Centers of Excellence (COEs)
Provide insights on local market trends and HR practices.
Work with COEs to design and implement HR programs, employee value propositions, and talent strategies that attract, develop, and retain key talent.
4. Customer‑Centric HR Solutions
Assess internal and external customer needs to design value-added P+T solutions.
Address talent and organizational gaps to support business goals.
5. Colleague Engagement & Culture Building
Manage colleague engagement initiatives to promote team cohesion and desired cultural values.
Partner with local leaders on People + Talent–related projects.
6. Performance & Compensation Management
Drive annual performance review cycles.
Lead Total Rewards and compensation reviews aligned with market benchmarks and business priorities.
7. Workforce & Succession Planning
Lead workforce planning with senior management to anticipate future talent needs.
Support succession planning and development of critical capabilities.
8. Process Improvement
Enhance and align P+T processes across the business.
Oversee design, implementation, and change management to ensure operational efficiency.
9. Governance, Compliance & Risk Management
Maintain strong knowledge of relevant employment laws and ensure regulatory compliance.
Partner with legal teams to minimize risk.
Monitor adherence to P+T governance standards, controls, and policies.
10. Project Support
Provide support on ad‑hoc P+T projects as needed.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a related field.
Minimum 8 years of HR/People + Talent experience.
At least 3 years in a similar managerial or senior HR business partner role.
Japanese and Korean language ability highly preferred.
Strong commercial acumen and ability to translate business needs into HR strategies.
Proven stakeholder management and business partnering skills.
Strong relationship builder with excellent influencing skills.
Hands-on, resourceful approach; able to deliver in fast-paced environments.
