Job Title: Senior Network Engineer / Network Operations Lead
Experience Level: 5–8 years
Role Overview
This role is responsible for managing and supporting enterprise-level production network environments serving 100+ users, including business-critical and mission-critical systems. The position focuses on data center and wide-area network operations, incident escalation handling, infrastructure design and upgrades, and technical leadership across internal teams and external vendors.
Key Responsibilities
Support and maintain enterprise production network environments with high availability and performance requirements
Operate and manage data center network infrastructure supporting business-critical applications
Handle escalated incidents and high-severity network issues, providing third-level technical support
Assess risks and impacts and participate in major network changes and implementations
Develop performance reports, dashboards, and capacity planning metrics
Act as technical lead for network operations teams and manage vendor relationships
Support technical transitions, including knowledge transfer and documentation between onsite and offshore teams
Design, migrate, upgrade, and optimize existing network infrastructure
Required Technical Skills
Core Network Expertise
Strong expertise in the design, configuration, and implementation of data center and branch networks
Advanced experience with Layer 2 and Layer 3 switching technologies, including VLANs, STP, VTP, and Gigabit Ethernet
Hands-on experience with Cisco Nexus-based data center environments
Expert-level knowledge of IP addressing design and optimization
Strong experience configuring and troubleshooting routing protocols such as RIP, EIGRP, OSPF, and BGP
Deep understanding of dynamic routing, switching, and network troubleshooting across data center and WAN environments
SD-WAN and Wireless
Experience with SD-WAN configuration and management
Wireless network design, implementation, and operational support
Hands-on experience managing wireless controllers and access points (Cisco or Aruba)
Operational knowledge of DNS, DHCP, and NTP services
Security and Specialized Technologies
Experience with network security technologies, including firewalls such as Cisco ASA/Firepower and Palo Alto
Familiarity with identity and access solutions such as Cisco ISE
Exposure to advanced or niche networking technologies, including Cisco ACI, NSX, SDN, SDA, and DNAC
Experience with traffic optimization and WAN acceleration tools such as Riverbed or Cisco WAAS
Platform Experience
Experience working with platforms such as Cisco Nexus, F5 BIG-IP, Infoblox, Riverbed, and Cisco wireless solutions
Mandatory Requirements
Proven experience in network data administration
Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills
Ability to lead technical discussions and collaborate across teams
