Role Purpose
The PR & Event Marketing Executive plays a key role in strengthening brand visibility, driving demand generation, and supporting customer engagement in the Japanese market. This position is responsible for planning and executing integrated public relations and event marketing initiatives that support business growth and sales objectives.
The role combines hands-on event marketing (webinars, seminars, exhibitions, and trade shows) with public relations activities to establish the company as a trusted thought leader in its field. All activities are designed and delivered in alignment with local business practices, cultural expectations, and market dynamics in Japan.
Key goals include increasing brand awareness, generating qualified leads, and amplifying thought leadership through strategic PR and high-impact events.
Key Responsibilities
Public Relations
Build and maintain strong relationships with media, journalists, and relevant industry organizations
Create and distribute press releases, media materials, and thought leadership content in Japanese
Monitor media exposure and prepare regular performance reports for internal stakeholders
Secure speaking opportunities and media exposure for internal subject matter experts at industry events
Event Marketing
Plan and manage end-to-end execution of physical and virtual events, including webinars, seminars, conferences, and exhibitions
Develop event strategies aligned with demand generation and account-based marketing priorities
Coordinate logistics, vendor management, and on-site execution to ensure high-quality delivery
Produce event-related marketing materials such as invitations, presentations, and post-event reports tailored to the Japanese audience
Measure and report event performance, including lead generation and engagement outcomes
Integrated Campaign Support
Work closely with sales, marketing, and subject matter experts to ensure consistent messaging and aligned objectives
Leverage PR and events as core channels within integrated marketing campaigns to support pipeline creation and brand positioning
Market and Customer Insights
Track local market trends, industry developments, and competitor activities
Incorporate cultural insights and buyer behavior into PR and event strategies to maximize impact
Required Skills and Knowledge
Strong written and verbal communication skills in Japanese, with business-level English proficiency
Proven experience managing PR initiatives and event marketing programs from planning through execution
Solid understanding of media relations and event marketing best practices
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Experience with design tools and webinar platforms is an advantage
Ability to manage external vendors and agencies effectively

Experience Requirements

Education
Bachelor’s degree preferred in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field
Language Requirements
Native-level Japanese (spoken and written)
Business-level English proficiency
Travel Requirements
Occasional domestic and limited international travel for events, meetings, or training
