Position Summary
The company seeks an experienced SAP MM/SD Consultant to support a large-scale transformation program within the life sciences sector.
This position focuses on aligning business processes with SAP functionality, ensuring operational readiness, and supporting system deployment in a regulated environment.
The ideal candidate will combine deep SAP expertise with strong communication skills to connect business stakeholders and technical teams effectively.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as the primary liaison between business users and SAP functional teams for Materials Management (MM) and Sales and Distribution (SD).
Conduct workshops and requirements-gathering sessions with stakeholders to define and document business needs.
Align local processes with global templates and SAP best practices while ensuring compliance with Japanese regulations for the life sciences industry.
Translate business requirements into detailed functional specifications for development and configuration teams.
Support system testing, validation, data migration, and go-live preparation from a business perspective.
Contribute to training, change management, and post-implementation support.
Ensure SAP MM/SD operations meet compliance and traceability standards in GxP-regulated environments.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth integration with other modules such as PP, WM, and FI.
Qualifications
Required:
8+ years of SAP experience, including hands-on expertise in MM and SD modules and exposure to AR or MDM.
Minimum of two full-cycle SAP implementations, ideally in global or regional projects.
Strong understanding of materials management, inventory control, and logistics operations.
Proven configuration experience in SAP MM (purchasing, inventory, invoicing, valuation) and integration with SD, PP, and FI.
Experience working in regulated environments such as life sciences, pharmaceuticals, or healthcare.
Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to business users.
Proficiency in English and Japanese (JLPT N2 or above).
Flexibility to travel when required.
Preferred:
Experience in the consulting or chemical/food industry.
Familiarity with GxP compliance and SAP validation processes.
Ability to operate in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with multiple stakeholders.

Salary: Competitive, commensurate with experience
