Role Summary
This role combines technical expertise with consultative sales responsibility. The Technical Application Consultant independently manages the full customer engagement cycle, including responding to inquiries, conducting on-site visits, delivering technical explanations and demonstrations, preparing reports and quotations, and closing orders.
The position focuses on value-based selling of differentiated, premium solutions that enhance the understanding and optimization of organic synthesis and crystallization processes. Rather than competing on price, the role emphasizes communicating measurable value and long-term benefits.
Beyond new product introductions, responsibilities include post-installation support, user training, usage-expansion seminars, and cross-selling or upselling of complementary solutions. As a subject-matter specialist, the consultant may also represent the organization through presentations at scientific conferences or external technical seminars.
Key Responsibilities
Leverage CRM systems and data to analyze customer organizations and plan proactive sales and engagement strategies
Develop long-term, trust-based partnerships with customers as a strategic advisor
Manage inbound leads from digital channels, academic events, and exhibitions through to quotation and deal closure
Deliver on-site product demonstrations and technical workshops
Provide ongoing user support and organize educational sessions to increase product utilization
Participate in relevant scientific conferences and industry exhibitions
Coordinate technical discussions and information exchange with overseas manufacturing or technical teams
Travel domestically and internationally as required
Required Qualifications
Practical experience or solid knowledge of organic synthesis
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or Life Sciences (technical college graduates acceptable)
Experience in B2B sales or a customer-facing technical role (e.g., application engineering)
Valid driver’s license
English reading and writing proficiency
Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with pharmaceutical drug development processes
Background as a chemist or chemical engineer in pharmaceutical, chemical, or research environments
Experience providing technical or field support for laboratory equipment
Hands-on experience using CRM systems
Knowledge of data management and utilization in organic synthesis or crystallization process development
Conversational English ability
