Position: Assistant Brand Manager, NPD

Location: Tokyo, Japan

About the Role:

This role supports the achievement of mid-term and annual business goals by working closely with cross-functional teams including sales, product supply, and marketing. The successful candidate will take the lead in strengthening brand awareness and sales through strategic planning and execution of new product development initiatives tailored to the professional salon industry.

Key Stakeholders:

  • Salon professionals and distribution partners

  • Creative and branding agencies

  • Internal departments such as R&D, supply chain, sales, and regional teams

Main Responsibilities:

  • Develop and oversee execution of the product pipeline strategy

  • Lead brand strategy planning and ensure consistent implementation

  • Drive planning and execution of new product launches

  • Manage key brand visuals and marketing assets

  • Monitor and manage financial KPIs such as profit and loss (L17)

  • Lead and mentor junior team members

Primary Tasks Include:

  • Designing and executing the long-term product roadmap

  • Shaping overall brand positioning and strategy

  • Managing and optimizing brand-level P&L (L17)

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • University degree (bachelor’s or higher)

  • 5+ years of experience in new product development (NPD), ideally within beauty, cosmetics, or consumer goods

  • 5+ years of marketing experience preferred

  • Background in the professional salon or haircare industry

  • Strong understanding of hair-related product categories such as color and care

  • Proven experience in project and people management

  • Strong collaboration skills for cross-functional teamwork

  • Business-level English proficiency is a plus
