Job Description

This role involves production engineering responsibilities focused on factory expansion and the renewal or introduction of machinery and equipment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare specifications for upgrading, introducing, or improving factory machinery and equipment in coordination with manufacturers and engineering firms.

  • Evaluate technologies and costs, liaise with specialized contractors, manage installation schedules, and oversee trial operations.

  • Enhance mass production processes to improve product quality and reduce costs.

  • Plan schedules and budgets for mid- to long-term factory or equipment upgrades and new installations.

  • Drive efficiency, automation, and labor-saving initiatives using IoT and digital transformation (DX) technologies.

Application Requirements

  • Education: University or technical college graduate

  • Experience: Minimum 5 years in a relevant engineering or production role

  • Language Skills:

    • Positive attitude toward using English and willingness to take on new challenges

    • Email communication with overseas stakeholders; conversational English is a plus

    • Non-native Japanese speakers must have business-level Japanese proficiency

  • Technical Skills:

    • Ability to read design, mechanical, and piping (P&ID) drawings

    • Experience coordinating with manufacturers or engineering firms (construction, mechanical, electrical)

    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; AutoCAD knowledge is a plus

    • Knowledge in mechanical/process piping, material strength, materials science, manufacturing engineering, fluid dynamics, or chemical engineering

    • Strong perseverance and commitment to task completion

    • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally (approximately twice a year)
