Overview:

This role is responsible for analyzing financial activities related to spending and investments, with the goal of improving returns and supporting sustainable growth. Key areas include evaluating marketing and trade expenditures, assessing their impact on sales and profitability, and reviewing supply chain costs such as warehousing, delivery, and freight.

As familiarity with internal processes grows, the role expands to include strategic support for innovation projects, involving cost analysis, pricing, volume forecasting, and marketing investment reviews. The position also covers monthly financial reporting, performance reviews, and detailed product-level financial analysis.

Additionally, the role includes oversight of budgeting, forecasting, and ad-hoc financial analysis, along with supervising monthly closings and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and internal controls.

Key Responsibilities:

Business & Financial Analysis (Approx. 75%)

  • Lead monthly rolling forecasts in collaboration with Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain, and administrative teams.

  • Analyze profit and loss variances and supply chain cost trends.

  • Support pricing and trade spend decisions through margin analysis.

  • Evaluate marketing investments for profitability.

  • Conduct gap analyses comparing actuals to budget and forecast in both local and foreign currencies.

Monthly Accounting Closing (Approx. 25%)

  • Supervise closing operations managed by the shared service center.

  • Handle accruals and inventory revaluations under IFRS.

  • Prepare and submit monthly accounting and tax reports using internal reporting systems.

  • Reconcile data between local systems and group reporting tools.

  • Generate financial reports including sales, cash flow, royalties, and EBIT analysis.

Technical Skills & Experience:

  • Advanced proficiency in Excel.

  • Experience with databases, especially SAP BW.

  • Strong understanding of profit and loss structures.

  • Familiarity with financial modeling (DCF, NPV, IRR).

  • Solid background in cost accounting.

  • Accounting certification (e.g., US CPA or Japanese equivalent preferred).

  • 8–10 years of relevant experience.
