Role Overview
This position focuses on expanding relationships with existing clients and acquiring new customers in the project cargo sector. Responsibilities include preparing quotations and bid documents, supporting operations, and attending on-site activities when necessary.
The division currently consists of eight members, organized into three sections: Business Development, Operations, and Special Projects. The team includes a department head (Japanese male in his 50s), one business development manager (also the department head), five operations staff (led by a female supervisor in her 50s, with two male and two female team members aged 20s to 40s), and one special project staff member (male in his 60s).
Key Responsibilities
Client Development (50%): Strengthen relationships with existing clients, including re-engaging dormant accounts
New Business Acquisition (50%): Conduct sales activities targeting new clients
Collaboration with Regional and Overseas Offices: Follow up on international sales leads
Quotation and Bid Preparation: Negotiate pricing with shipping lines and domestic/international vendors to prepare necessary documentation
Travel: Domestic travel approximately once per month; international travel based on project needs
Qualifications
Candidates should meet one or more of the following criteria (listed in order of preference):
Minimum 5 years of experience in project cargo transportation or breakbulk vessel operations
At least 7 years of experience in logistics sales
Over 10 years of hands-on experience in logistics departments of shipping companies, freight forwarders, engineering firms, or trading/manufacturing companies
More than 10 years of experience in international sales departments of trading or manufacturing companies
Language Requirements
English: TOEIC score of 700 or equivalent proficiency
Japanese: JLPT N1 or higher
