As Senior Technical Product Manager, you will be responsible for determining and delivering platform features that contribute to the growth of our services across Japan. You will bring local market insights to the central product team to shape pragmatic solutions that solve local problems and can also benefit the global platform, and empower the local team to make product decisions and changes for the market.

 

You will be the focal point for all product related matters for Japan, and work closely with the engineering and business teams to evaluate what value propositions we should focus on from a product perspective to improve user experience in Japan to grow our adoption, usage and revenue.

 

Your responsibilities:

  • Define a product strategy for our products in Japan, and execute that strategy to effectively impact the growth of our business.

  • Build and maintain a continuous product roadmap by working with key business stakeholders to understand business processes and explore how to solve problems with high-impact solutions.

  • Collaborate with sales, marketing, business development, design, analytics, and other functions to drive our business by adding value to the user experience while ensuring alignment with the overall product strategy.

  • Work closely with the central engineering team to build a scalable solution for Japan as we grow our business.

  • Analyze data and user feedback to build solid business cases to support and justify feature development, optimizing for high impact feature rollout that speeds up time-to-market and time-to-value

  • Educate business stakeholders and drive daily product operations with the teams

  • Be the gatekeeper for product and tech features to ensure optimal business impacts

  • Define metrics to measure the health and success of the product.

  • Identify and execute on opportunities for user engagement to optimize user experience on our products.

  • Grow revenue directly attributable to value created by the product post launch.

  • Identify key levers to grow businesses using promotional mechanisms on the product.

  • Keep apprised of new innovations and trends in startups/ ecommerce and emerging technologies.

 

Your background/experience/qualities:

  • Strong technical understanding of the systems and technologies behind products, their limitations, scaling factors, boundary conditions, and reasons for architectural decisions.

  • Deep experience managing web and mobile consumer products as a product/tech specialist.

  • Ability to deal with ambiguity and break down barriers, and able to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

  • A sense of urgency, pragmatism and a solution-oriented approach to problem-solving with an analytical mindset

  • Ability to balance priorities and multi-task, demonstrate common sense and be very detail-oriented while keeping an eye on the big picture.

  • Fluency in both English and Japanese.
