COMPANY OVERVIEW

Tier 1 Asian Private Equity firm with a separate Special Situations team focusing on Equity Minority Investments and Distressed Debt / NPL. Total equity commitments to special situations amount to roughly USD 1 billion. The firm is sector agnostic but will focus on TMT, Financial / Professional Services and retail opportunities, primarily in Japan. 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Main responsibilities include:

  • Evaluate and execute equity minority and distressed debt / NPL investments in Japan

  • Conduct in-depth market research 

  • Financial modelling and valuation of potential investment opportunities in different sectors and across different asset classes 

  • Conduct in-depth due diligence on each transaction and preparation of investment committee memos 

  • Formulating investment strategies and business plans

REQUIREMENTS

  • 2+ year of experience in either M&A, distressed debt / NPL analysis, equity investments (private or public)

  • Genuine interest in the special situations industry

  • Strong financial modeling and valuation skills (strong proficiency with MS Excel)

  • excellent interpersonal and communication skills

  • native or near native Japanese language skills  as well as business level English skills are highly desirable
