【COMPANY OVERVIEW】
Tier 1 Asian Private Equity firm with a separate Special Situations team focusing on Equity Minority Investments and Distressed Debt / NPL. Total equity commitments to special situations amount to roughly USD 1 billion. The firm is sector agnostic but will focus on TMT, Financial / Professional Services and retail opportunities, primarily in Japan.
【JOB RESPONSIBILITIES】
Main responsibilities include:
Evaluate and execute equity minority and distressed debt / NPL investments in Japan
Conduct in-depth market research
Financial modelling and valuation of potential investment opportunities in different sectors and across different asset classes
Conduct in-depth due diligence on each transaction and preparation of investment committee memos
Formulating investment strategies and business plans
【REQUIREMENTS】
2+ year of experience in either M&A, distressed debt / NPL analysis, equity investments (private or public)
Genuine interest in the special situations industry
Strong financial modeling and valuation skills (strong proficiency with MS Excel)
excellent interpersonal and communication skills
native or near native Japanese language skills as well as business level English skills are highly desirable
