Following the successful launch of several flagship and shop-in-shop locations in Tokyo, the company is preparing to open a new flagship store in a major Tokyo commercial district in spring 2026. This new opening offers a rare opportunity to help shape the brand’s next stage of retail development in Japan.

About the Role

The Goldsmith will operate an in-store jewellery laboratory within the new Tokyo flagship store. This is a highly distinctive position within the Japanese retail market, combining advanced craftsmanship with direct customer interaction.

The role focuses on engraving, polishing, resizing, welding, plating, jewellery repairs (including chains), and stone setting. In addition to maintaining the highest standards of craftsmanship, the role emphasizes transparency by allowing customers to experience the making and care of jewellery firsthand.

This position reports to the Head of Retail Operations and is based full-time at the Tokyo flagship store.

Key Responsibilities

Craftsmanship and Technical Expertise

  • Perform engraving, polishing, resizing, soldering, welding, and plating with consistent precision

  • Conduct repairs, chain adjustments, and stone setting using specialized tools such as micro welders, torches, and microscopes

  • Operate and maintain lab equipment including polishing machines, ultrasonic cleaners, plating systems, ventilation units, and laser engravers

  • Ensure equipment is properly calibrated and maintained for safety and performance

  • Adhere to craftsmanship and sustainability standards to extend product lifespan

  • Coordinate with external workshops for advanced processes when required

Customer Engagement and Storytelling

  • Demonstrate craftsmanship processes during in-store sessions and private appointments

  • Communicate technical processes in a clear and engaging way aligned with the brand’s values of craft, innovation, and sustainability

  • Support and educate retail staff on basic craftsmanship knowledge to enhance customer service

  • Participate in marketing and PR initiatives such as photoshoots, video content, and events related to craftsmanship

Responsibility and Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with local regulations related to fire safety, ventilation, waste management, and chemical handling

  • Maintain safety procedures, PPE usage, and proper chemical storage documentation

  • Collect, recycle, and report waste metals and dust in line with internal responsibility and transparency standards

  • Work closely with store management to align lab activities with daily retail operations

  • Liaise with building management and safety authorities to ensure ongoing compliance

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Provide insights and feedback on craftsmanship challenges and innovations to relevant internal teams

  • Support brand initiatives focused on craftsmanship and sustainability

  • Partner with logistics teams to promote responsible waste handling and material recycling

Profile Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a bench jeweller, engraver, or fine jewellery artisan

  • Advanced skills in engraving, soldering, polishing, plating, and stone setting

  • Knowledge of safety standards and compliance within jewellery workshops, preferably in Japan

  • Strong understanding of precious metals, gemstones, and responsible sourcing

  • Customer-facing experience such as workshops, demonstrations, or training is highly preferred

Compensation and Benefits

  • Annual salary range: JPY 5,000,000 – 7,000,000

  • Commuting allowance up to JPY 30,000 per month

募集職種について

本ポジションは、東京の新旗艦店内に設置されるインストア・ジュエリーラボの運営を担当します。高度な職人技と顧客対応を融合させた、日本では非常に珍しい役割です。

彫刻、研磨、サイズ直し、溶接、メッキ、チェーン修理、石留めなどを中心に担当し、最高水準のクラフトマンシップを維持するとともに、制作工程をお客様に直接体験していただく役割を担います。

リテールオペレーション責任者へレポートし、勤務場所は東京の旗艦店となります。

主な業務内容

クラフトマンシップ・技術業務

  • 彫刻、研磨、サイズ調整、溶接、メッキを高精度かつ安定して実施

  • マイクロウェルダー、バーナー、顕微鏡を用いた修理・石留め・チェーン調整

  • 研磨機、超音波洗浄機、メッキ設備、排気装置、レーザー刻印機の操作・管理

  • 設備の点検・調整を行い、安全かつ最適な状態を維持

  • サステナビリティ基準に基づき製品寿命の向上に貢献

  • 必要に応じて外部工房と連携

カスタマーエンゲージメント

  • 店舗内デモや個別対応を通じて制作工程を紹介

  • 技術的な内容を、ブランドの価値観に沿って分かりやすく伝達

  • リテールスタッフへの基礎技術レクチャーを実施

  • 撮影やイベントなど、クラフトマンシップを伝えるPR活動に参加

責任・法令遵守

  • 消防、換気、廃棄物、薬品管理などの関連法規を遵守

  • 安全手順、保護具使用、薬品管理の記録を徹底

  • 廃金属・研磨粉の回収とリサイクルを実施し、透明性を確保

  • ストアマネージャーと連携し、店舗運営とラボ業務を円滑に統合

  • 建物管理者・安全担当者と連携し、継続的な法令遵守を維持

他部署との連携

  • 技術的な課題や改善点を関係部署へ共有

  • クラフトやサステナビリティをテーマとしたブランド施策を支援

  • ロジスティクスと連携し、責任ある廃棄物管理を推進

求める人物像

  • ジュエリー職人、彫金師、またはファインジュエリー分野で3年以上の実務経験

  • 彫刻、溶接、研磨、メッキ、石留めの高度な技術

  • ジュエリー工房における安全管理・法令遵守の知識（日本での経験があれば尚可）

  • 貴金属・宝石・責任ある素材調達への理解

  • ワークショップやデモなど、顧客対応経験がある方歓迎
