Position Overview
This position plays a key role in facilitating communication and coordination between local clients in Japan and the Sales team at the company’s European headquarters. The focus is on operational follow-up, ensuring high customer satisfaction, and supporting commercial initiatives managed by the HQ.
The Sales Engineer will manage customer relationships by sharing feedback with HQ, supporting day-to-day operations related to orders and deliveries, and maintaining supply chain integrity. In addition, the role includes acting as a liaison between local clients and Engineering and Quality departments at HQ, ensuring accurate and timely communication throughout all phases of each project.
Main Responsibilities
1. Client Relations & Sales Support
Serve as the communication link between Japanese clients and HQ Engineering/Quality teams during all project phases.
Ensure sales performance and profitability goals are met within the Japanese market.
Respond quickly and accurately to technical and quality-related inquiries, and help implement continuous improvement initiatives.
2. Order, Delivery & Operational Oversight
Oversee daily operations related to customer orders, ensuring timely and accurate information exchange.
Anticipate and address potential supply chain issues to maintain on-time delivery.
Monitor key operational metrics (sales, profit, lead times), and propose improvements when needed.
3. Pricing & Negotiation
Manage pricing discussions with clients in line with company policy.
Maintain and update pricing documentation in alignment with HQ guidance.
Understand local customer expectations and coordinate with internal teams (including Logistics, Quality, and Engineering) to meet requirements.
4. Business Development & Coordination
Contribute to new business opportunities by cultivating strong client relationships.
Maintain regular reporting and communication with HQ and department leadership to align local execution with global strategies.
Candidate Profile
Minimum 3 years of experience in technical sales within the automotive or motorcycle sector, ideally involving direct engagement with OEM clients.
Demonstrated experience working with international teams, with strong awareness of time zone and cultural differences—especially in collaboration with European partners.
Adaptable, responsive, and comfortable in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.
Native-level Japanese proficiency and business-level English are required; Italian language skills are a plus.
Highly detail-oriented and capable of managing multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
