Roles and Responsibilities
The role involves serving as a manufacturing lead within the mechatronics division, responsible for establishing and optimizing mass production systems for robotics solutions. The position requires oversight of quality, cost, and delivery timelines for the manufacturing process, in close collaboration with technical teams in Japan and overseas.

The role also involves acting as a bridge between team members of varied cultural and technical backgrounds, ensuring consistent engineering standards and smooth interdepartmental collaboration. Coordination with DFM/DFA engineers in propulsion mechanical design, electrical design, and embedded systems will be required from the design phase to production readiness.

Key duties include:

  • Develop and manage prototype and production launch plans, coordinating with internal teams, OEMs, and suppliers to meet quality, delivery, and cost goals.

  • Maintain Bills of Materials (BOM) and manage engineering change processes in alignment with supply chain operations.

  • Oversee regulatory compliance and certification processes (e.g., CE, UL, RoHS) in cooperation with engineering teams, testing organizations, and consultants.

  • Serve as the technical liaison between R&D and supply chain/manufacturing partners, aligning schedules and integrating feedback into continuous improvement efforts.

Requirements

Essential:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in mechanical, electrical, or control engineering.

  • At least 5 years’ experience in manufacturing mechatronic products (e.g., robots, automated machinery, FA equipment).

  • Proven experience in designing and setting up production lines and manufacturing equipment.

  • Team leadership and management experience.

  • Proficiency in both Japanese and English.

  • CAD proficiency (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD).

Preferred:

  • Familiarity with improvement methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, or Kaizen.

  • Experience with manufacturing digital tools (MES, ERP, PLM, etc.).

  • Manufacturing management experience in global corporate or start-up environments.

  • Experience working with multicultural and international teams.
