The Territory Sales Representative is responsible for all sales activities of the company’s equipment in assigned accounts and territories in Japan and Korea. The targeted equipment is glass processing machines used for cutting, drilling, grinding, edging, milling, polishing, tempering, and other processes involved in shaping and finishing glass products. The equipment can also extend to the tooling used for such machines, such as cutting tools, polishing wheels, and diamond drills. Such responsibilities include but are not limited to, cold calls, prospecting, qualifying, closing, and maintaining post-sale relationships. The Territory Sales Representative is also responsible for maintaining all administrative requirements such as call reports and CRM updates.
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: (May be required to perform additional duties)
Manage sales operations for multiple product lines through an exclusive distribution partner in Japan and, on a temporary basis, through a similar partner in Korea
Directly handle equipment sales within the Japanese market for a specific machinery brand
Oversee the distribution of tooling products in Japan, coordinating dealer-led sales for one brand and managing direct sales for another
Collaborate closely with the Technical Application Manager to align product capabilities with market needs
Work alongside the Japan-based Marketing Manager to strengthen brand presence and promote the full product portfolio
Develop and execute strategic sales plans and schedules aimed at increasing market share in the region
Pursue and follow up on new business leads from fieldwork, industry events, and other channels
Prepare customized presentations, proposals, and sales agreements for prospective clients
Maintain updated sales collateral and continuously expand product knowledge
Build and sustain strong relationships with both existing and potential customers
Compile and deliver regular reports on sales activity, pipeline status, and performance against targets
Share market insights, customer feedback, and new business opportunities with internal teams to support product and service enhancements
Represent the company at trade shows, seminars, and other promotional events—domestically and internationally
REQUIREMENTS:
Language(s): Japanese (native), Business English (required), Korean (added advantage).
Mandatory: Proven experience in the glass industry;
Preferred: Familiarity with machinery used in glass processing, such as waterjets and machining centers, particularly in the construction or automotive sectors;
Knowledge of Excel, Word, and PowerPoint is also required;
Strong interpersonal and communication skills;
Possess a valid driver’s license;
Willingness to travel extensively.
