Job Overview

This role focuses on effectively utilizing the skills and capabilities of the team to achieve department and company targets. The primary goal is to improve vehicle quality, maintain and enhance customer satisfaction, and reduce warranty costs in Japan, thereby supporting sustainable technical service operations. Approximately 80% of the responsibilities involve warranty management, while 20% focus on promoting technical service projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set and manage the warranty budget in collaboration with the global team to reduce overall warranty costs

  • Analyze warranty trends by dealer and category, and implement corrective measures when abnormalities are detected

  • Evaluate critical warranty claims from dealers and coordinate with global teams for resolution

  • Verify suspicious warranty claims, justify findings, and take appropriate actions on unjustified claims

  • Collaborate with global assessor teams to maintain assessment quality, backlog management, and timely warranty inquiry responses

  • Coordinate warranty payments with the finance department

  • Promote warranty training alongside the training department and enhance dealer understanding when policy adjustments occur

  • Oversee warranty audits in cooperation with global teams, conclude results, and share outcomes

  • Manage and maintain warranty-related systems in partnership with global teams

  • Prepare warranty reports for management

  • Support vehicle quality improvements by collaborating with relevant parties

  • Conduct research and strategic planning related to warranty evaluation

  • Promote and support technical service-related projects with global teams and stakeholders

  • Manage the budget related to technical services

Minimum Qualifications and Skills

  • Strong logical thinking with the ability to develop action plans based on numerical data

  • Knowledge and experience in quality assurance within the automotive industry

  • Resilience and negotiation skills for working with culturally diverse teams

  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills in Japanese and the ability to build strong relationships

  • Conversational English skills sufficient for work communication

  • High motivation to achieve goals and deliver value as part of a team

  • Proven team leadership skills

  • Proficiency with standard office tools (MS Office, email, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications

  • English proficiency (TOEIC 750+ or equivalent)

  • Experience working with automotive manufacturers or importers

  • Skills in team and people management

  • Experience in promoting and managing project progress
