Position Summary:

This senior leadership role is responsible for guiding data and AI strategy within a consulting environment, reporting directly to the Head of Insights & Data. The position involves managing a team of approximately 40 professionals across disciplines such as applied AI, data architecture, engineering, visualization, and ERP analytics. The role also includes strategic advisory to executive-level clients, primarily in financial services, and driving business development and delivery excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support day-to-day operations and leadership of a multidisciplinary data and analytics team

  • Serve as a strategic advisor to senior clients, particularly in insurance, banking, and capital markets

  • Lead client engagements from initial opportunity through delivery, ensuring measurable business impact

  • Drive business development activities including proposal creation, client presentations, and deal closure

  • Take ownership of revenue targets, team utilization, and performance metrics

  • Represent the Tokyo office in regional and global forums, contributing to thought leadership and innovation

  • Maintain a strong in-office presence while balancing remote work flexibility

Qualifications:

Experience:

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in consulting or industry roles focused on data and digital transformation, particularly within financial services

  • Strong technical foundation with recent experience in strategic advisory and business development

  • Deep expertise in data strategy, applied AI/ML, and enterprise data architecture

  • Proven ability to lead complex programs and manage large teams across multiple workstreams

  • Experience owning project P&L and consistently meeting revenue goals

  • Strong client-facing skills with the ability to engage senior stakeholders and lead executive-level discussions

Language:

  • Native-level proficiency in either Japanese or English

  • Fluent proficiency in the other language (JLPT N2 or higher required for Japanese speakers, with at least 3 years of work experience in Japan)

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field

  • Master’s degree (MBA or equivalent) preferred, especially with a focus on strategy, analytics, or digital transformation
