Role Overview
This role is focused on delivering strategic financial analysis and forecasting for the Japan market. The analyst will support decision-making by preparing budgets, analyzing performance, and collaborating with regional finance teams. The position requires a strong understanding of financial data and the ability to translate insights into actionable recommendations.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and manage Japan’s budget and forecast processes, including system uploads and reconciliations
Prepare financial reports and analyze business performance, identifying trends and areas for improvement
Support regional finance leadership in evaluating actual results against budget, forecast, and prior year figures
Act as a business partner across regional finance and local functions, providing meaningful performance insights
Participate in regional finance initiatives and projects
Collaborate with the local accounting team to ensure accurate monthly financial statements
Assist with regional financial consolidation and other ad hoc tasks
Continuously seek ways to improve processes, controls, and reporting quality
Respond to ad hoc analysis requests, managing priorities to ensure timely delivery
Qualifications & Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related discipline
1–3 years of experience in financial analysis and management reporting, ideally in a retail environment
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to interpret complex data
Advanced Excel skills, including experience with large datasets and financial modeling
A mindset focused on process improvement and efficiency
Strong relationship-building skills across teams and functions
Detail-oriented, proactive, and self-motivated
Business-level proficiency in both Japanese and English
Proficiency in Excel; working knowledge of PowerPoint and other Microsoft tools
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Experience with SAP and BPC is a plus
