Role Overview

This role is focused on delivering strategic financial analysis and forecasting for the Japan market. The analyst will support decision-making by preparing budgets, analyzing performance, and collaborating with regional finance teams. The position requires a strong understanding of financial data and the ability to translate insights into actionable recommendations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage Japan’s budget and forecast processes, including system uploads and reconciliations

  • Prepare financial reports and analyze business performance, identifying trends and areas for improvement

  • Support regional finance leadership in evaluating actual results against budget, forecast, and prior year figures

  • Act as a business partner across regional finance and local functions, providing meaningful performance insights

  • Participate in regional finance initiatives and projects

  • Collaborate with the local accounting team to ensure accurate monthly financial statements

  • Assist with regional financial consolidation and other ad hoc tasks

  • Continuously seek ways to improve processes, controls, and reporting quality

  • Respond to ad hoc analysis requests, managing priorities to ensure timely delivery

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related discipline

  • 1–3 years of experience in financial analysis and management reporting, ideally in a retail environment

  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to interpret complex data

  • Advanced Excel skills, including experience with large datasets and financial modeling

  • A mindset focused on process improvement and efficiency

  • Strong relationship-building skills across teams and functions

  • Detail-oriented, proactive, and self-motivated

  • Business-level proficiency in both Japanese and English

  • Proficiency in Excel; working knowledge of PowerPoint and other Microsoft tools

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

  • Experience with SAP and BPC is a plus
