A leading global luxury fragrance and beauty company is seeking to strengthen its Product Marketing function within its Japan business. Product Marketing plays a central role in translating brand values into tangible products and experiences that resonate with the local market.

In this context, providing strong market and customer insights to global teams is critical to ensuring successful product launches that address local needs while expanding market share.

To drive sustainable growth, the business must simultaneously increase market share and strengthen brand equity. Achieving this requires a deep understanding of fragrance and beauty products, the Japanese market, and the brand’s unique positioning.

Brand equity is a key performance indicator, and product marketing strategies must consistently reinforce brand distinctiveness while responding to market demand. Success in this role depends on close collaboration across multiple functions, including Marketing, Sales, Education, Quality, Creative, PR, and corporate teams such as Media, Digital, Logistics, and IT. Building strong internal networks is essential to ensure smooth execution and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

The Product Marketing Planner will be responsible for the following:

  • Develop and execute annual marketing plans for the assigned product category, aligned with overall category strategy

  • Initiate and manage product campaigns and 360-degree activations in collaboration with cross-functional teams

  • Coordinate operational execution across marketing, sales, education, quality, creative, and corporate functions

  • Manage demand forecasting for products and related campaign materials

  • Collaborate and negotiate with global teams to maximize campaign effectiveness

  • Analyze campaign performance and category sales results

  • Monitor market conditions, competitors, and local consumer trends, and provide insights and proposals to global stakeholders

  • Optimize the customer journey at point of sale based on product strategy and propose actionable improvements

Ideal Candidate Profile

Experience

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in product marketing

  • Experience within the beauty industry (FMCG or selective distribution)

  • Experience in product development or research and innovation is an advantage

Skills and Attributes

  • Strong knowledge of the cosmetics and beauty market

  • Proven ability to work effectively across multiple departments

  • Creative problem-solving mindset

  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills

  • Leadership capability to align and motivate diverse stakeholders toward shared goals

  • Fluent written and spoken English
