Role Overview
An organization in the healthcare and life sciences sector is seeking an experienced Japanese translator to support the localization of specialized content.
This role focuses on delivering accurate, natural, and context-appropriate translations for a Japanese audience, particularly within medical and scientific domains. Candidates without prior experience in healthcare-related translation will not be considered.
Work Environment
Hybrid working model with access to a Tokyo-based office
Primarily remote, with occasional in-office attendance required for meetings, training, or business needs
Key Responsibilities
Translate a wide range of healthcare and life sciences materials from English into Japanese
Ensure translations are accurate, consistent, and aligned with industry terminology
Adapt technical and scientific content into clear, natural Japanese suitable for the target audience
Maintain terminology consistency across projects
Manage deadlines and deliver high-quality outputs independently
Requirements
Core Requirements
Native-level proficiency in Japanese
Strong English reading and writing skills
Proven professional experience translating healthcare or life sciences content
Solid understanding of medical and scientific terminology
High attention to detail and quality
Relevant Experience
Background in translating materials such as:
Medical or clinical documents
Regulatory documentation
Patient-facing materials
Instructions for use (IFU)
Scientific or research content
