Job Overview:

This role is responsible for driving human resources strategies that support business expansion, employee engagement, and leadership development within the Japanese market. Partnering closely with the APAC HR Director, the HR Manager will play a key role in aligning HR initiatives with broader regional and organizational objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Strategic HR Planning:

  • Design and implement country-specific HR strategies that support long-term business growth.

  • Collaborate with regional leadership and local management to ensure alignment between HR practices and company goals.

2. Talent Acquisition and Development:

  • Lead recruitment efforts to attract and retain top-tier professionals.

  • Create and manage talent development initiatives that promote internal growth and career progression.

3. Employee Engagement and Retention:

  • Develop and roll out initiatives aimed at enhancing employee engagement and reducing attrition.

  • Analyze feedback from employee surveys and use insights to implement meaningful changes.

4. Leadership Development:

  • Build programs to strengthen leadership capabilities across the organization.

  • Partner with regional leaders and headquarters to provide coaching and mentorship for managers.

5. Performance Management:

  • Establish and oversee a robust performance evaluation framework that aligns individual performance with business goals.

  • Guide leaders on performance feedback and support improvement efforts as needed.

6. Employee Relations & Compliance:

  • Ensure that all HR practices and policies comply with local labor regulations.

  • Address employee relations matters proactively and constructively to maintain a healthy workplace culture.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree required.

Experience:

  • At least 10 years of experience in HR leadership or management.

  • Direct experience working within Japan is highly preferred.

Skills & Knowledge:

  • Strong understanding of local labor laws and HR practices.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills across all organizational levels.

  • Analytical mindset and strong problem-solving skills.

  • Familiarity with HR systems and standard office software.

Language Proficiency:

  • Fluent in Japanese and English, both spoken and written.
