Position Title: IT Manager (Group-wide Responsibility)

Role Summary
This organization is actively acquiring and supporting the expansion of small and mid-sized companies across key industries in Japan. While respecting the independence of each business, the group provides leadership talent, shared resources, and strategic guidance to accelerate long-term growth.
This role plays a central part in supporting multiple rapidly growing subsidiaries by leading various IT and digital initiatives. You will collaborate directly with each portfolio company’s CEO to strengthen IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, and operational efficiency.
As the first dedicated IT leader, you will build the group’s IT foundation from the ground up, contributing significantly to future readiness for public listing.
Primary Responsibilities
1. Group IT Strategy Development
Define IT strategy aligned with the group’s acquisition and growth model
Establish long-term plans for infrastructure, cybersecurity, identity and cloud management, and business systems
Create group-wide policies while considering each subsidiary’s autonomy
Build IT governance and internal controls required for future IPO
2. IT Advisory for Portfolio Companies
Partner closely with CEOs to understand business needs and challenges
Conduct IT due diligence and risk assessments
Provide hands-on support including:
Infrastructure implementation and operations
Productivity/collaboration tool deployment
Data management and backup frameworks
Cloud and cybersecurity enhancements
Selection and rollout of business systems
Foster strong working relationships with on-site teams in various industries
3. Establishment of Group IT Functions
Develop procurement, vendor management, and IT service delivery processes
Build scalable systems supporting current and future acquisitions
Create “IT onboarding playbooks” to streamline integration of newly acquired businesses
Plan and lead future hiring and development of an internal IT team
4. IT Due Diligence & Integration in M&A
Evaluate infrastructure, risk exposure, and IT investment needs for potential acquisitions
Lead security, identity management, and communication tool standardization
Ensure stable and rapid IT transitions immediately after acquisition
5. Security, Compliance & Risk Oversight
Define and supervise cybersecurity standards across the group
Manage data protection, access control, and backup processes
Establish incident response capability and IT risk framework
Align systems and processes with requirements for stock market listing
6. Vendor & Budget Management
Select, negotiate, and manage external vendors/MSPs
Support IT budget planning and resource prioritization with each CEO
Optimize cost structure through group-wide procurement
Candidate Profile
Experience & Background
Broad technical knowledge across infrastructure, cloud, security, and business systems
Experience supporting IT across multiple entities is beneficial
Comfortable advising senior executives and leadership
Experience building IT departments and processes from scratch preferred
Skills & Competencies
Entrepreneurial mindset; ability to thrive in ambiguity
Strong problem-solving and operational execution capability
Excellent cross-functional communication skills
Ability to tailor IT solutions to different organizational maturity levels
Native Japanese required; English ability preferred
