Assess the feasibility of applying automation / robotization in customer projects (new and existing businesses) as Logistics Automation Engineer
Leverage and quickly replicate best engineering practices across our network Engineering and Automation for Continuous Improvement:
Renewals: Trigger and engage the review of existing strategic operations proactively to support Contract Renewals. Deploy detailed Engineering project when necessary.
Automation: assess the feasibility of utilizing and expanding the use of Logistics Automation, Robotics, and Technologies on applicable Engineering projects to improve productivity on the following Operations, but not limited to Inbound, Putaway, Picking, Packing, Outbound and VAS.
Engage with internal and external stakeholders to understand the requirements, communicate data requirements and methodology.
Analyze contractual commitments, specifications, performance and other data to plan and develop logistics activities by using knowledge of industrial and/or process engineering, logistics automation, ergonomics, business practices & requirements
Identify potential improvement opportunities and setting the productivity standards for the operations for ramp-up/ramp down scenario.
Solid analytical skills with good commercial and technical understanding of Contract Logistics and Warehousing.
Pragmatic financial acumen to optimize both investment level and ROI
Bachelors’ degree, in Industrial Engineering / Logistics Engineering / Automation & Mechatronics Engineering or similar.
Minimum 5 years’ professional experience in Logistics, warehousing or 3PL industrie
2+ years of relevant working experience of solution design/automation/process engineering in the logistics and supply chain industry; knowledge in 3PL is a plus.
Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Excel is a must (VLOOKUP Function, Pivot Table)
Fluent in both English and Japanese
