Job Overview
This role is responsible for leading, conducting, and executing all aspects of Surgical Workflow Products (SWP) marketing in Japan. This role ensures the achievement of short- and mid-term business goals through strategic planning, market development, team leadership, and cross-functional collaboration.
【JOB RESPONSIBILITIES】
Marketing Management (40%)
Define business and market development strategies for the SWP portfolio.
Align short- and mid-term strategies with global Business Area (BA), commercial operations, and regional sales teams.
Drive growth and target achievement for SWP.
Build strategic partnerships with customers and partner companies in line with global strategies.
Manage local pricing based on win/loss analysis.
Support the sales team in business expansion and sales enablement.
Report on business performance to the local director and global BA.
Educate internal stakeholders and distributors on SWP value proposition and positioning.
Collect and analyze market intelligence, including competitor activity, pricing, and trends.
Leadership (40%)
Set clear objectives for product managers, providing coaching, guidance, and performance evaluation.
Manage team actions to optimize business results and conduct performance development meetings.
Take ownership of recruitment, training, and talent development within the SWP team.
Promote compliance with internal policies and act as an advocate for employees.
Foster a collaborative, growth-oriented culture.
Product Management (if applicable) (20%)
Define product strategies across short-, mid-, and long-term horizons.
Conduct market analysis and forecast trends and medical economics.
Analyze academic/scientific data to support strategy.
Plan new product launches and lifecycle management.
Coordinate with global BA, R&D, and manufacturing on product development.
Manage sales channels and business planning for assigned products.
Business Management & Marketing Activities
Develop and monitor annual sales plans and monthly forecasts.
Coordinate with logistics for inventory management and quality teams for product issues.
Lead KOL engagement and promotional activities.
Design sales support tools, communication plans, and event strategies.
Represent the company at industry congresses and seminars.
Deliver internal and external training sessions, acting as a product and clinical trainer.
【REQUIREMENTS】
For Product Manager Function
5+ years of product management experience in medical devices.
Familiarity with large-scale/mechanical medical equipment.
Knowledge of relevant academic and regulatory frameworks, including Yakujihou.
Project and strategic planning skills.
Strong data analysis and presentation capabilities.
Multitasking ability.
Language skills: Native-level Japanese; Business-level English (speaking, reading, and writing).
For Marketing Manager Function
3+ years of people management experience.
Proven expertise in marketing strategies, business operations, and healthcare networks.
Strong written and verbal communication skills in both Japanese and English.
Financial and business acumen.
Engagement in industry societies and continual professional development.
Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering, Marketing, Business, or related fields.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Direct management of Product Managers within the SWP team.
Internal & External Collaboration
Internal: Sales, Clinical, Logistics, and Quality teams
External: Hospital administrators, healthcare professionals, distributors, medical consultants, and global business functions
Work Environment
Regular business travel required (minimum once per month) for conferences, seminars, and customer visits.
