Key Responsibilities of Merchandising Manager
• Plan and execute seasonal buying plan and product mix of assigned category by store type together with Global Merchandising, in accordance with the objectives set by the company, considering local/global demands.
• Manage allocation of merchandise, monitor evolution of inventory and sell through ratios to maximize sales and minimize inventory risks, seeking potential incremental sales opportunity with replenishment.
• Strategically plan product drops in line with global guidelines, liaise and facilitate with Retail, VM, and Stores, to ensure effective execution and sell-through target achievement.
• Plan and implement effective product action plans and promotions – e.g. Trunk Shows, Pop-Up stores, DS sales events - in collaboration with Retail, VM, and PR / Communications team.
• Track product shipment status and ensure timely delivery in collaboration with FJ Logistics and FJI Supply Chain.
• Assess the competition with respect to financial condition, trends, marketing and product strategy; react accordingly to ensure market leadership.
• Proceed seasonal buy for products under license, and constantly update the business with external distributors / licensees, in order to maintain the sufficient allocation and inventory level
• Prepare the seasonal product information package, and train the retail population every season on product knowledge and strategies.
• Co-work with Quality Assurance in setting Ferragamo Japan quality standards.
Key Skills
• Work experience of Merchandising for more than 5 years in fashion business.
• In depth knowledge of latest fashion trend and luxury market information.
• Advanced PC skills.
• Good command of English
