Product & Program Manager – Ostomy Care

Position Overview
The Product & Program Manager will oversee both product marketing and patient support initiatives within the ostomy care portfolio in Japan. This position plays a key role in shaping strategy and execution for product launches, healthcare professional engagement, and patient programs. Working closely with cross-functional teams—such as sales, clinical education, and digital—the manager ensures global and regional alignment while developing strategies suited to the Japanese market. The ultimate goal is to increase market share, enhance product utilization, and improve patient quality of life through impactful engagement activities.

Main Objectives

  • Achieve annual sales and product launch goals for the Japan ostomy care business.

  • Expand market share and strengthen product adoption across channels.

  • Plan and lead the execution of the patient support program strategy in Japan.

  • Enhance awareness and engagement through both digital and in-person initiatives.

  • Grow membership and improve program value for patients.

  • Organize and deliver marketing, educational, and patient-centered events (e.g., conferences, webinars, workshops, and support sessions).

  • Partner with digital teams to optimize communication platforms such as websites and messaging tools.

  • Build and maintain relationships with healthcare professionals and key opinion leaders to drive advocacy and adoption.

  • Align with global and regional strategies while adapting to local market needs.

Key Responsibilities

Product Marketing

  • Develop and implement strategic marketing plans aligned with global and regional priorities.

  • Maintain a strong understanding of products, clinical evidence, competitors, and market trends.

  • Analyze performance metrics, customer insights, and market data to inform decisions.

  • Collaborate with Sales and Clinical teams on pricing, product training, and launches.

  • Manage marketing budgets efficiently and track return on investment.

  • Prepare market forecasts and maintain data models.

  • Develop and localize marketing materials for the Japanese market.

  • Provide product and competitive training for internal teams.

Patient Support Program

  • Design and implement initiatives that support patients throughout their treatment journey.

  • Create educational tools and resources for healthcare professionals and patients.

  • Organize patient-oriented events both in-person and online.

  • Explore innovative approaches to reach and engage broader audiences.

  • Adapt global materials and develop localized content tailored for Japan.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in the medical device industry preferred.

  • 1–3 years’ experience in marketing or patient engagement initiatives desirable.

  • Experience working in a matrix organization and cross-functional teams.

  • Strong knowledge of both traditional and digital marketing strategies.

  • Proven track record of managing successful marketing campaigns and patient programs.

  • Analytical mindset with ability to translate data into actionable strategies.

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

  • Understanding of Japan’s healthcare and regulatory landscape.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools and Power BI.

  • Ability to create, adapt, and translate marketing materials into Japanese.
