An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Workshop Manager to oversee service operations based in Tokyo. The role involves managing existing customers while expanding the service business through mobile units that provide on-site support.
This position offers a dynamic and fast-paced work environment, ideal for a proactive individual. The successful candidate will serve as the main contact for the service department, overseeing daily operations, managing technical staff, and ensuring high-quality customer and technical support.
Responsibilities
Oversee workshop service operations, including both mobile and in-house technicians, ensuring adherence to structure, standards, and compliance.
Monitor technician activities, calibration equipment, and ISO compliance requirements.
Manage schedules for mobile technicians and coordinate site inductions.
Prepare monthly reports and analyses on service metrics for management.
Serve as a point of contact for customers and sales teams to provide technical support.
Support inventory management alongside team members throughout the year.
Ensure company policies and procedures are properly implemented and followed.
Assist in recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, and training service personnel.
Drive continual improvement initiatives within service department processes.
Effectively manage service staff, workflows, and quality policies to optimize repair and calibration operations.
Requirements
Self-motivated with proven experience in people management, supervision, and providing remote support in a fast-paced environment.
Strong communication, organizational, leadership, team-building, and multitasking abilities.
Familiarity with service programs, heavy industry terminology, and mechanical systems is highly preferred.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
