Wholesale Manager – Japan (Luxury Fashion Industry)
Role Overview
We are seeking a Wholesale Manager to oversee the wholesale business in the Japanese market within a leading global luxury fashion organization. This role is responsible for driving annual and seasonal sales targets by developing new accounts, strengthening relationships with existing partners, and ensuring sustainable business growth.
The position also manages seasonal order activities, order tracking, and return processes through trade shows held in Paris and Milan, contributing to a healthy and profitable revenue structure. Additionally, the Wholesale Manager will provide accurate insights on the Japanese market to global headquarters, supporting product development and global strategy refinement.

Key Responsibilities

Manage sales performance and budgets for wholesale accounts, developing and executing action plans to achieve targets
Identify and develop new or dormant accounts through market research and competitor analysis
Monitor seasonal sell‑through and inventory levels, providing accurate sales forecasts and controlling order volumes
Visit partner stores, conduct business meetings, and maintain strong communication to reinforce relationships and increase order potential
Propose limited editions, promotions, and seasonal initiatives to support partner purchasing
Oversee shipping and delivery schedules for each account, coordinating closely with logistics and wholesale support teams
Manage invoicing, payments, accounts receivable, and credit for designated accounts
Negotiate returns and cancellations to minimize revenue loss and inventory risks
Collect and analyze market trends and buyer feedback from partners, reporting insights to global headquarters
Collaborate with internal departments (Retail, Buying, Marketing, Logistics, Finance) to ensure seamless end‑to‑end order and delivery processes aligned with company strategy


Requirements

Experience in wholesale sales and account management within the luxury or fashion industry
Flexibility to accommodate domestic travel, international travel (approximately 4 times per year), and peak business periods or events
Practical experience with trade shows, seasonal business cycles, and order management
Experience negotiating with buyers (orders, returns, terms, etc.)
Strategic mindset with the ability to understand business impact
Strong cross-functional collaboration and communication skills
Highly motivated, with the ability to work independently and within a team
Proactive and persistent in developing new business opportunities
Ability to build trust quickly with internal and external stakeholders
Strong analytical and organizational skills
Proficiency in English for communication with global teams
Excellent communication and presentation abilities
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
