Bioprocess Resin Sales Specialist – Role Summary

This position is responsible for supporting sales activities related to bioprocess resins across key customer accounts within the biopharmaceutical manufacturing industry. The role provides technical expertise to account teams and customers, enabling solution proposals, training, and support to drive growth with both existing and new customers. The specialist will evaluate customer processes, identify opportunities for improvement, and recommend solutions that contribute to sales expansion. The role reports to the Downstream Hardware Field Applications Support Leader based in Tokyo.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support sales strategy and account planning as a member of the core commercial team

  • Lead proposal development, customization support, and project coordination aligned to customer needs

  • Drive resin product sales to achieve regional targets and independently identify new business opportunities

  • Promote integrated bioprocess solutions and build long-term technical relationships with customers

  • Continuously strengthen knowledge of broader downstream bioprocess technologies and contribute to sales initiatives

  • Provide advanced technical guidance during pre-sales evaluations, demonstrations, customer training, and post-sales activities

  • Support advisory discussions with technical experts and deliver troubleshooting assistance and solutions to complex questions

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders

  • Develop and manage a qualified sales pipeline using CRM tools and execute quarterly activity plans

  • Collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams including account management, product and marketing teams, engineering, scientific support, service, and customer operations

  • Understand global product strategy and new product launches; contribute to domestic sales strategy and execution

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, life sciences, engineering, or related field

  • Minimum 3 years of commercial or application support experience, preferably within biotechnology or bioprocessing

  • Experience with cross-selling, upselling, value-based selling, and pipeline management

  • Knowledge of downstream processing equipment or consumables

  • Strong customer-focused mindset and ability to understand user processes and objectives

  • Fluency in Japanese and business-level English
