A global organization in the travel and hospitality industry is seeking a Director of Operations for Japan. The company operates resort and hospitality businesses internationally and continues to expand its footprint in the Japanese market.
This role will support operational strategy, oversee regional operations, and contribute to the growth and development of hospitality sites within Japan.
Position Overview
The Director of Operations will be responsible for driving operational strategy and ensuring the effective management of hospitality properties and corporate functions within Japan.
The role will provide leadership to support business growth, maintain operational standards, and ensure alignment with global policies and procedures. In addition, the position will collaborate with regional and global stakeholders to support expansion initiatives and operational improvements.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership

Oversee operational readiness across assigned hospitality locations and ensure operational frameworks and standards are properly implemented.

Establish monitoring processes to identify risks and ensure timely resolution of operational issues.

Ensure corporate office operations and property-level activities run smoothly.
Food & Beverage Performance

Lead initiatives related to food and beverage operations to ensure alignment with operational goals and financial targets.

Implement strategies to improve service quality, operational efficiency, and revenue generation within hospitality outlets.
Global Standards and Compliance

Ensure all hospitality locations comply with global operational, safety, and service standards.

Conduct operational reviews and implement improvement initiatives where gaps are identified.
Organizational Leadership and Development

Develop and strengthen the operational leadership structure to support future growth.

Participate in the recruitment, training, and development of operational leadership roles.

Establish clear performance expectations and support capability development across teams.
Stakeholder Management
This role works closely with a variety of internal and external stakeholders, including:

Candidate Profile
Leadership & Experience

Extensive experience in multi-site hospitality or resort operations management.

Strong ability to lead both operational strategy and on-the-ground execution.

Proven track record of driving operational improvements or service transformation initiatives, particularly within hospitality or resort environments.
