Role Overview
The Senior Product Manager will lead the strategy, development, and optimization of the company’s global payments platform.
This role will own the end-to-end product lifecycle, including product strategy, roadmap planning, and cross-functional execution. The position requires close collaboration with engineering, business development, customer success teams, and external payment partners to ensure scalable and secure payment capabilities across multiple international markets.
Key Responsibilities
Payments Strategy & Product Ownership

Define and drive the long-term vision, strategy, and product roadmap for the company’s payment platform across domestic and international markets.

Ensure payment capabilities support the company’s overall product ecosystem and global expansion.
Financial Performance & Payment Economics

Optimize transaction processing costs, pricing strategies, and payment-related revenue streams.

Support the development of a scalable and sustainable payment business model.
Compliance, Security & Risk Management

Ensure the platform meets industry standards related to payment security, regulatory compliance, and fraud prevention.

Oversee product requirements related to data protection, risk management, and operational security.
Product Development & Delivery

Manage the full product lifecycle from concept through launch and continuous improvement.

Work with engineering teams using agile development processes to deliver scalable and high-volume transaction systems.
Data-Driven Product Decisions

Utilize analytics, financial modeling, and operational data to guide product priorities and strategic decisions.

Monitor performance metrics and identify opportunities for optimization and growth.
Cross-Functional Leadership

Act as the central point of coordination between product, engineering, business development, and customer-facing teams.

Maintain strong partnerships with external payment providers and technology partners.
Candidate Profile
Experience
-
5+ years of experience in product management, preferably in SaaS, fintech, or platform-based products.

Proven experience launching and managing products handling large transaction volumes.

At least 3 years of experience working with payment technologies, such as payment gateways, digital wallets, multi-currency payment systems, or acquiring networks.
Skills

Strong understanding of payment ecosystems, compliance standards, fraud prevention, and security practices.

Ability to define strategic product direction while also supporting operational problem-solving when needed.

Strong analytical skills with experience in data analysis, financial modeling, and product performance measurement.

Ability to work effectively in fast-paced and globally distributed teams.
Education

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
Languages

Business-level proficiency in both Japanese and English.
