Field Service Engineer – East or West Japan

Position Summary
The Field Service Engineer will provide high-quality technical service and support for laboratory instrumentation across the East or West Japan region. The role includes installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and system upgrades, with a strong focus on imaging solutions, network configuration, and remote services. The position is home-office based and reports to the regional service leadership team. Success in this role requires strong customer support skills and the ability to meet service-related KPIs and revenue objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform on-site preventative maintenance, repairs, system diagnostics, and product upgrades to ensure optimal instrument performance and customer satisfaction.

  • Install imaging and related laboratory systems, including configuration of network connectivity and system integration.

  • Accurately complete service reports, expense submissions, parts/stock management, and related documentation using internal systems such as Salesforce.

  • Collaborate closely with product specialists, business units, and other service engineers to enhance product reliability and technical support processes.

  • Support the sales organization through basic user training, system demonstrations, and assistance with installation and implementation projects.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in field service engineering or clinical engineering.

  • Ability to read and write in English for email communication and technical documentation (translation tools may be used).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in the medical device sector.

  • Knowledge of pathology or laboratory diagnostic equipment.

  • Educational or practical background in IT/network technology, mechanical engineering, or electronics.
