Job Title: Product Manager

Reports to: Product Marketing Manager

Office Location: Shinagawa, Tokyo

Position Summary

The Product Manager (PM) is responsible for leading the planning and execution of strategic and tactical marketing initiatives in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders. The role aims to achieve annual business targets while developing sustainable sources of mid-term business growth.

The PM also manages the assigned product portfolio to ensure products are positioned, marketed, and used safely and effectively by customers in the market.

Key Responsibilities

1. Drive Business Performance and Optimize Investments

  • Achieve business plan (BP) targets for assigned products through close collaboration with the Sales team.
  • Manage marketing expenses within budget and ensure effective allocation of investments.
  • Oversee promotional materials and fixed assets related to assigned products.
  • Maintain appropriate inventory levels to support stable business operations.

2. Market Intelligence Management

  • Collect and analyze market trends, customer insights, and competitor information in a timely manner, both domestically and internationally.
  • Translate insights into actionable marketing strategies and sales plans for assigned products.

3. Product Strategy and New Product Launch

  • Develop and execute new product launch plans.
  • Collaborate with domestic and global teams to implement marketing plans and maximize product value.
  • Develop and execute communication strategies aligned with overall marketing strategy.
  • Work with internal stakeholders to build strong competitive differentiation and supporting evidence.

 

4. Customer Relationship Development

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers and Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) related to assigned products.
Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher (4-year college degree required).
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a marketing role within the medical industry (medical devices or pharmaceuticals).
  • Minimum of 5 years’ total professional experience in the medical industry.

Skills & Competencies

  • Solid knowledge of the medical environment, medical economics, regulatory landscape, and competitive dynamics.
  • Proven experience as a team leader or project leader with strong project management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively across functions and with global stakeholders.

Language Requirements

  • Business-level English proficiency.
  • Native-level Japanese proficiency.

  • Primary work location: Shinagawa, Tokyo Office
  • Remote work arrangements available.
