Project Manager (Contract / Haken) – Digital & PMO Department
Location: Tokyo / Yokohama
Reports to: Department Leadership
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the planning and delivery of marketing content creation projects — including campaign assets, always‑on content, localization, and digital deliverables. This role oversees projects from initial brief to final delivery, partnering closely with Account, Creative, Strategy, Content Production, and cross‑functional teams.
You will ensure that all deliverables meet client objectives, are completed on schedule, within budget, and maintain high quality standards. You will also play a key role in improving workflows, documentation, and scalable processes across teams.
Although this is not a hands‑on web development role, basic understanding of website/page delivery steps is required to ensure governance, process correctness, and risk escalation.
Responsibilities
Project Leadership & Delivery
Lead marketing content production projects from intake to final delivery, ensuring proper approvals, documentation, and version control
Develop clear project briefs and Statements of Work (SOW) with scope, deliverables, timelines, budgets, assumptions, and dependencies
Coordinate cross‑functional alignment with Account, Creative, Strategy, and technical partners
Planning, Budget & Quality Management
Define deliverables, schedules, and budgets in collaboration with Content Creation Producers
Maintain quality control by managing reviews, legal/brand checks, and QA processes
Manage project budgets, track expenses, identify variances, and provide solutions
Risk, Resource & Dependency Management
Identify risks, issues, and dependencies early; maintain RAID logs and drive resolutions
Coordinate with strategy, media, analytics, legal, and other teams for timely handoffs
Manage master schedules, trackers, status reports, and cadence meetings
Operational Excellence
Conduct post‑project reviews, identify bottlenecks, and implement process improvements
Document workflows and create SOPs, templates, checklists, and onboarding materials
Set clear expectations with internal and external stakeholders regarding scope, timing, approvals, risks, and tradeoffs
Web-Related Project Governance
For website/page‑related work, understand essential delivery steps (requirements → design → CMS/build → QA/UAT → launch)
Ensure correct owners are assigned and escalate risks to technical leads
Resource Planning
Identify required skill sets (copy, design, production, tech) and confirm availability
Escalate any resourcing gaps or conflicts
Qualifications
Required
Bachelor’s degree in a related field; PMI certification preferred
5+ years of project management experience
Experience working with international teams
Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects
Strong logical thinking and attention to detail while maintaining big‑picture awareness
Ability to propose and implement solutions for complex issues
Experience managing marketing/creative content workflows and basic understanding of web delivery processes
Knowledge of digital workflow tools (briefing, approvals, version control, scheduling)
Familiarity with design/web deliverables such as Figma or basic HTML/CSS/JS (coordination level)
Proficiency with Microsoft 365, Jira, Confluence, and database tools
Strong financial and commercial awareness
Highly accountable, solutions‑oriented, collaborative, and adaptable
Strong curiosity, learning mindset, and sound judgment
Business‑level English (TOEIC 800+ recommended for global reporting and meetings)
Preferred
Basic technical understanding of automobiles
Experience improving operational processes and documenting SOPs/templates
Experience with CMS updates, release coordination, or UAT support
