Responsibility
Operational / Professional / Business:
Oversee end-to-end management of key accounts to achieve targeted sales volume, market share, and profitability.
Build and strengthen long-term relationships with customers, including senior management and key stakeholders.
Lead account strategies and collaborate with internal teams to develop tailored business plans for each account.
Negotiate commercial agreements and ensure investments are utilized effectively and fairly across key accounts.
Maximize sales volume and brand value within travel retail channels such as border shops, diplomatic outlets, airlines, and ferries.
Identify and pursue responsible growth opportunities, focusing on core and next-generation product lines.
Stay informed on market and infrastructure developments, assess new opportunities, and act strategically to leverage them.
Continuously evaluate and enhance account business models for greater efficiency.
Conduct regular business reviews and performance analyses for key accounts and responsible markets.
Management, Leadership & Relationships:
Provide coaching and development opportunities for direct reports to support career progression.
Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to design and execute effective activation strategies
Foster understanding, effective communication, and alignment of travel retail account strategies among internal stakeholders.
Ensure compliance with established governance standards and internal policies
The global travel retail business unit manages and distributes brands through international travel channels, serving as a key platform for worldwide brand exposure and engagement.
This market is highly competitive and dynamic, operating across multiple global trade channels and strategic key accounts.
Extensive trade marketing experience at a managerial level within a multinational organization, ideally in key account management and the FMCG sector.
Experience
Experience in global travel retail is an advantage.
Strong interpersonal and influencing skills, with the ability to manage diverse stakeholders effectively.
Results-oriented mindset with the capability to work independently.
Solid business and financial acumen, including experience in route-to-market planning and evaluation.
Comprehensive understanding of marketing principles and all elements of the marketing mix.
Excellent analytical, communication, negotiation, and planning abilities.
Broad working knowledge of interrelated corporate functions such as supply chain, marketing, finance, IT, customer service, legal, HR, and agency management.
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to recommend and implement actionable solutions within company policy.
Fluent in written and spoken English and Japanese.
Willingness to travel up to approximately 35% annually.
Broad understanding of industry regulations, including taxation, excise duties, and customs compliance related to key markets.
