Role Summary

We are seeking an Area Sales Manager based in Japan to lead regional sales activities. This role suits a self-driven, accountable professional with an entrepreneurial mindset who can combine commercial and technical expertise to drive consultative B2B sales and business growth.

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree

  • Solid commercial experience in pharma B2B, excipients, or fine chemicals, with a focus on technical sales or business development

  • Strong business acumen and analytical ability to understand and address customer technical needs

  • Results-driven, proactive team player with an entrepreneurial mindset

  • Excellent Japanese and English communication skills (spoken and written); strong presentation skills required

Nice to Have

  • Japanese pharmacist license

  • Hands-on experience with formulation support or optimization

  • Proven success working cross-functionally and across multiple levels in a multinational environment

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive sales growth across assigned accounts in Japan

  • Manage and develop relationships with distributors and key customers

  • Maintain and expand market share

  • Build and sustain a strong sales pipeline through proactive business development

  • Provide technical solutions and support to customers and distributors

  • Position the company as a trusted technical expert in the market

  • Strengthen brand awareness and reputation in Japan

Team & Reporting

  • Hybrid role with remote work and on-site presence in Japan

  • Coverage: Japan region

  • Travel: Up to 30% domestically

  • Reporting line: Regional Sales Manager (Japan)

  • Close collaboration with regional Sales and Technical colleagues
