Role Summary
The Brand Manager will be responsible for developing and executing strategic marketing plans for a leading pet food brand. This role includes end-to-end ownership of go-to-market initiatives, brand performance analysis, promotional planning, and customer engagement, working closely with cross-functional teams and external partners to achieve both short- and long-term business goals.
Key Responsibilities
Brand Strategy (30%)
Develop and execute comprehensive marketing plans aligned with brand goals.
Establish KPIs to monitor performance and recommend strategic adjustments.
Collaborate with trade and retail marketing to evaluate and refine these metrics.
Go-to-Market & IMC (Integrated Marketing Communications) (25%)
Lead the planning and execution of product launches and relaunches.
Oversee the development of creative briefs and campaign materials.
Support the creation of presentations for customer planning meetings.
Retail & Sales Activation (15%)
Produce promotional assets and sales materials for field use.
Participate in sales meetings to provide product and promotion updates.
Represent the brand at major industry events and pet shows.
Insights & Analytics (10%)
Conduct market and competitor analysis to identify trends and opportunities.
Apply consumer and shopper insights to marketing strategy.
Understand and adapt to eCommerce and retail channel dynamics.
Customer Engagement (10%)
Participate in strategic business planning sessions with key customers.
Present product updates and upcoming campaign details.
Commercial Planning & Monitoring (10%)
Contribute to annual budget planning and forecasting.
Track and evaluate brand performance, including volume, sales, and market share.
Identify opportunities to strengthen brand position in the market.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree.
5+ years of experience in brand management, trade marketing, or customer marketing within consumer goods.
Native-level Japanese and business-level English proficiency.
Strong project management and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Analytical mindset with the ability to extract insights from data and translate them into action.
Solid understanding of financial and commercial drivers of brand performance.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general digital literacy.
Positive, energetic, and proactive approach to teamwork.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in Marketing or Business Administration.
Experience working on cross-functional brand initiatives in the pet care, FMCG, or related industries.
