Field Application Scientist

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Collaborate with both new and existing customers to develop and enhance applications of Variable Pathlength Technology and Slope Spectroscopy.

• Deliver pre- and post-sales support for analytical product lines. This includes responding to technical inquiries, hosting seminars, conducting demonstrations, providing on-site or in-lab assistance, troubleshooting, training users, and supporting method development and validation services.

• Design and implement project plans that address customer requirements using advanced analytical tools and spectroscopy-based approaches.

• Work closely with the sales team to ensure product marketing activities align with broader commercial strategies.

• Strengthen and maintain strategic account relationships by assisting with account planning and building cross-functional customer connections.

• Identify, cultivate, and engage with key accounts and thought leaders to drive innovation and adoption of company solutions.

• Accurately track activities, manage customer projects, and contribute to forecasting through CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce).

• Collect and communicate insights on customer feedback, competitor actions, and market developments to inform product positioning and future roadmap strategies.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in biology, biochemistry, or a related discipline.

• At least 3 years’ experience in the biopharma or life science sector (applications specialist background is an advantage).

• Solid understanding of biomanufacturing processes and analytical techniques, especially UV-Vis spectroscopy.

• Laboratory experience in bioanalytical method development; familiarity with regulations, pharmacopoeial requirements, and quality control is preferred.

• Experience working in GMP environments or with GMP-regulated customers, particularly involving instrument qualification and method validation, is an asset.

• Willing to travel extensively (up to 70% domestically, with occasional international trips).
