Role Overview
The Japan Marketing team is responsible for driving demand generation, lead acquisition, and customer engagement to support sales growth, while enhancing brand visibility in the Japanese market.
Digital channels are a critical component of this strategy. As such, marketing activities place strong emphasis on digital execution, including website optimization, marketing automation, email marketing, and market-appropriate social media initiatives.
The Senior Digital Marketing Executive, Japan plays a key role in executing and optimizing these digital initiatives to support business growth and brand development.
A. Overall Purpose
The Senior Digital Marketing Executive, Japan is responsible for:
Supporting the execution of Japan’s digital marketing initiatives to drive demand, generate qualified leads, and increase brand awareness
Implementing digital marketing activities across multiple channels, including SEO, SEM, email, mobile, display, and paid media, with strong localization for the Japanese market
Co-developing and executing multi-channel campaigns, including planning, content coordination, deployment, and performance reporting, while aligning with global standards
Maintaining and optimizing dashboards and reports to track KPIs such as lead quality, conversion rates, and engagement
Managing current and future marketing technology platforms (e.g., CMS, marketing automation, CRM), ensuring integration and compliance with Japanese data privacy regulations
Overseeing database segmentation and hygiene to support effective lead nurturing and demand generation
Collaborating with both local and global stakeholders to ensure brand consistency and alignment with Japan-specific business goals
B. Key Responsibilities
Digital Marketing & Automation
Advise on and execute digital marketing initiatives across web, SEO, SEM, email, mobile, display, paid media, and social channels, localized for Japan
Launch and optimize online advertising campaigns via platforms such as Google Ads and Microsoft Ads to drive awareness and conversions
Manage SEO and GEO activities, including keyword research, technical SEO, and content optimization aligned with Japanese search behavior
Work with local and global marketing teams to publish engaging, localized digital content for the Japan market
Develop and execute marketing automation programs to nurture, score, and qualify leads
Act as the primary point of contact for marketing automation, CMS, and CRM platforms
Partner with the Marketing Manager to continuously refine Japan’s digital marketing strategy
Stay current on digital marketing trends in Japan and globally
Apply marketing automation best practices to support lead and demand generation objectives
Analytics & Performance
Measure and analyze digital marketing performance using analytics and reporting tools
Continuously monitor and optimize campaigns to improve ROI and conversion rates
Develop insights into Japanese customer behavior across digital channels
Maintain and enhance marketing dashboards for key stakeholders in marketing and sales leadership
Support data visualization and performance storytelling initiatives
Database Management
Conduct regular database health checks and maintain high data quality standards
Ensure compliance with Japan’s data protection and privacy regulations
Troubleshoot platform-related issues and collaborate with global teams for resolution
C. Job Profile
Required Skills & Knowledge
Strong foundation in digital marketing, including website management, SEO, SEM, email, and social media
Proven analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and recommend actionable improvements
High level of technical aptitude and experience with marketing technology tools
Solid understanding of lead generation, demand generation, and sales-related KPIs
Preferred: Experience with marketing automation platforms, CRM systems, and CMS tools
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
Ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously while maintaining quality and accuracy
Strong communication skills in both Japanese and English
Highly organized, adaptable, and able to prioritize effectively
Collaborative mindset with a strong customer focus

Required Qualifications
Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field
Language Requirements
Business-level proficiency in spoken and written Japanese and English
Travel Requirements
Occasional domestic or international travel for meetings, training, or events
No regular rotation required
