Job Title: Independent Aftermarket Sales Manager

Department: Field Team, Aftersales Division
Reports To: Field Team General Manager
Location: Tokyo (Hybrid Work Model)

Role Overview

This position is responsible for driving sales of automotive replacement parts to independent parts wholesalers outside of authorized dealer networks. The focus is primarily on general and consumable components across multiple automotive brands.

Leveraging prior experience with major automotive parts suppliers, the role builds long-term customer relationships and contributes to revenue growth and market expansion within the independent aftermarket channel. In addition, the role plays a key part in introducing and executing circular economy initiatives, including recycled and remanufactured automotive parts, within the Japanese market.

Key Responsibilities

  • Promote and sell automotive spare parts to independent parts wholesalers

  • Identify customer requirements and recommend appropriate product solutions

  • Prepare sales quotations, conduct price negotiations, and coordinate delivery timelines

  • Work closely with internal teams such as logistics, technical support, and supply chain

  • Monitor market trends, customer feedback, and competitor activity

  • Compile, analyze, and submit regular sales performance reports

Required Qualifications, Skills & Experience

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience

Professional Skills & Experience

  • Fundamental knowledge of automotive parts and components

  • Strong understanding of the Japanese automotive aftermarket and distribution structure

  • Familiarity with key industry players, suppliers, and sales channels

  • Proven negotiation, listening, and relationship-building skills

  • High level of customer service orientation and problem-solving ability

  • Intermediate computer skills, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

  • Business-level English writing ability; general English proficiency (TOEIC 600 or above)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Approximately five years of sales experience with a major automotive parts supplier

  • B2B sales experience within the automotive industry

  • Conversational to fluent spoken English ability

  • Project management skills and ability to execute tasks quickly and efficiently
